{"id":966198,"date":"2024-03-15T18:23:55","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T18:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=966198"},"modified":"2024-03-15T18:23:55","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T18:23:55","slug":"mbalula-calls-on-supporters-to-give-anc-overwhelming-majority","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/mbalula-calls-on-supporters-to-give-anc-overwhelming-majority\/","title":{"rendered":"Mbalula calls on supporters to give ANC overwhelming majority"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">&lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minute<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has called on party supporters and members to vote the party back into power with an overwhelming majority.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">He says this will avert going into coalitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">Mbalula was delivering the Collins Chabane Memorial Lecture at the Saselemani Stadium near Malamulele in Limpopo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">Chabane died in a crash on the 15th of March in 2015. <\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">He was Minister of Public Service and Administration at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">Mbalula says coalition governance is not working in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">\u201cWe must work hard to defend our freedom. So, when we remember Collins Chabane, we must remember him by returning the African National Congress back into power with a bigger number, so that the ANC can govern. We have seen that coalition government does not work for South African,\u201d adds Mbalula.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">The Chabane family spokesperson Percy Chabane has appreciated the ANC for honouring their late family member.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">\u201cCollins passed on this particular day, the 15th. The people of Xikundu, we thank you for not allowing other political party to come to play here.
