Patriotic Alliance (PA) President Gayton McKenzie<\/a> has dispelled claims that the party advocates for\u00a0<\/span>coloured people<\/span>\u00a0only.<\/span><\/p>\n

McKenzie\u00a0<\/span>was speaking<\/span>\u00a0on Sunday at the party\u2019s final rally held at the Sun Bet Arena in Pretoria ahead of the May 29 elections.<\/span><\/p>\n

He maintained that all reports\u00a0<\/span>circulating<\/span>\u00a0were\u00a0<\/span>just<\/span>\u00a0lies as the PA is the only political party\u00a0<\/span>that boasts<\/span>\u00a0a multi-racial national executive committee (NEC).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here today to come and tell them that we are the only party in South Africa\u00a0<\/span>that has<\/span>\u00a0all nationalities in the NEC.\u00a0<\/span>We are the only party in South Africa\u00a0<\/span>that has Premier candidates who are<\/span>\u00a0of different races.<\/span>\u00a0So we are here to tell them not to lie about us. We are not a coloured party but a colourful party.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Three non-negotiable principles <\/strong><\/p>\n

McKenzie said the PA has three non-negotiable principles that <\/span>should be met<\/span>\u00a0before entering into any coalition government after the general\u00a0<\/span>elections,<\/span>\u00a0and that his party will not negotiate when it comes to bringing God back into schools, the death penalty and mass deportations.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the Western Cape\u00a0<\/span>alongside<\/span>\u00a0Gauteng and\u00a0<\/span>KwaZulu-Natal<\/span>\u00a0have\u00a0<\/span>been touted<\/span>\u00a0as the country\u2019s political battlefields, McKenzie told party supporters that he was\u00a0<\/span>certain<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that the<\/span> Democratic Alliance (DA) would lose the Western Cape province in the upcoming elections.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Western Cape is gone. The DA is out of the Western Cape. They can do what they like. They are fighting me with the legal fraternity. They are fighting me with their judges. They are fighting me with their newspaper men\u00a0<\/span>but<\/span> ek s\u00ea one baiza nie,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

He further indicated that Israel\u2019s bombardment of Gaza was not the PA\u2019s immediate priority\u00a0<\/span>saying<\/span>\u00a0if successful in the elections, he will be the first President to bring the Israelis and Palestinians together for peace.<\/span><\/p>\n
