{"id":967896,"date":"2024-06-03T11:01:02","date_gmt":"2024-06-03T11:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=967896"},"modified":"2024-06-03T11:01:02","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T11:01:02","slug":"mbalula-describes-zuma-as-a-force-to-be-reckoned-with","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/mbalula-describes-zuma-as-a-force-to-be-reckoned-with\/","title":{"rendered":"Mbalula\u00a0describes\u00a0Zuma as a \u2018force to be reckoned with\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">&lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minute<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">The African National Congress (ANC) S<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">ecretary-General <\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">Fikile<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u00a0<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">Mbalula<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u00a0has described\u00a0<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK) <\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">leader Jacob\u00a0<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">Zuma<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u00a0as a force to be reckoned with in the country\u2019s political landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">The MK<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">\u00a0<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">party which was launched in December 2023 managed to garner\u00a0<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sabcnews.com\/sabcnews\/945554-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">14.5% of the national vote<\/a> in last week\u2019s election.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">It has replaced the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) <\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\">in the third position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">Mbalula<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u00a0says the<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-us\"> MK party will get many seats in the National Assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u201cBut the fact of the matter is that as we speak today, Jacob <\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">Zuma<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u00a0is a force to be reckoned with in the politics of South Africa. He is now 14% on the board and has surpassed\u00a0<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">EFF<\/span><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">. Nobody has surpassed us, we\u2019re still there with a reduced majority.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span xml_lang=\"en-za\">\u201cBut these ones have been surpassing each other.
