{"id":968129,"date":"2024-06-16T18:28:43","date_gmt":"2024-06-16T18:28:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=968129"},"modified":"2024-06-16T18:28:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-16T18:28:43","slug":"mk-party-accuses-iec-concourt-of-ignoring-election-rigging-evidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/mk-party-accuses-iec-concourt-of-ignoring-election-rigging-evidence\/","title":{"rendered":"MK Party accuses IEC, ConCourt of ignoring election rigging evidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time:\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"rt-time\">3<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party says the Electoral Commission (IEC) and the Constitutional Court have ignored evidence provided to support the party\u2019s claims of last month\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sabcnews.com\/sabcnews\/mk-party-atm-want-re-run-claim-polls-not-free-and-fair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">elections being rigged<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media in Sandton, Johannesburg, former President Jacob Zuma says, through a statement read by the party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela, that they will be going back to the Electoral Court to challenge the validity of the election results.<\/p>\n<p>The MK party accuses the ConCourt of relying on technicalities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe presented concrete evidence to the IEC, showing widespread irregularities in the voting process and the voting system, it has all fallen on deaf ears. We\u2019ve also tried all peaceful means to address our grievances, but all in vain.
