{"id":968212,"date":"2024-06-27T10:10:18","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T10:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/dm-simulator-v2\/?p=968212"},"modified":"2024-06-27T10:10:18","modified_gmt":"2024-06-27T10:10:18","slug":"some-kzn-residents-express-mixed-views-on-gnu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elections.sabc.co.za\/elections2024\/some-kzn-residents-express-mixed-views-on-gnu\/","title":{"rendered":"Some KZN residents express mixed views on GNU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some KwaZulu-Natal residents have mixed views on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sabcnews.com\/sabcnews\/ten-parties-sign-for-government-of-unity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Government of National Unity<\/a> (GNU) and the expected announcement of new executives by President Cyril Ramaphosa.<\/p>\n<p>Ten political parties joined the GNU after the May 29 general election as no party had an outright majority.<\/p>\n<p>KwaZulu-Natal residents say they are waiting in anticipation for the announcement of the country\u2019s new cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>The residents say they want an efficient government that will address the social and economic challenges faced by all South Africans.<\/p>\n<p>One of them says, \u201cI would wish that these parties be able to work together, and each party is able to have a representative as a minister and they must choose educated and experienced people in the field.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another resident argues that \u201cThe ministry of finance shouldn\u2019t be in ANC hands, it should be an opposition because you only see the new player on the field and his level of comprehension in putting the strategic motions so that South Africa comes out of this deep hole. We need to have a strong border efficiency so I think Home Affairs also must be given to a non-ANC member.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy opinion is that there can\u2019t be too many bulls in a kraal, who will lead this GNU because they are all leaders from parties,\u00a0 some have already said they don\u2019t want NSFAS, BEE,\u00a0 they don\u2019t want land without compensation.
