The prosecutor in the murder trial of three Radzuma siblings, accused of killing two South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) leaders in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, seeks to rearrange witnesses after Monday’s postponement.
The trial against Percy, Simon, and Ndivhuwo Radzuma will resume with prosecutor Nyambeni Nekhambele facing the challenge of rescheduling some witnesses.
Nekhambele says, “The challenge is that I have got witnesses from Pretoria who are coming tomorrow. I have got a witness for today, which means I have to reschedule. I will have to make arrangements as the court pleases.”
Percy’s lawyer, Ntsako Hlungwane, plans to bring an application for bail, citing the extended custody of the accused.
Hlungwane says, “I’m also equally concerned about the overstay of the accused persons in custody. As a result of this, my lord, I will also make other arrangements or consultations because the court may agree with me that the matter has been postponed many times ago, my lord, and if today we shall not do anything, it is equally painful for me as well as the legal representative of the accused persons.”
