The Sol Plaatje Municipality in Kimberley in the Northern Cape has called on political parties to remove their elections posters following May's polls or face a fine.

It's been more than a month since the elections were concluded and not all parties have removed all their election material.

The IEC has released a statement clarifying the update of the elections dashboard.

This amid circulating reports that the IEC had released different results of the elections.

The Electoral Act prescribes that for the calculation of compensatory seats both national compensatory ballots and regional ballots are taken into account.

It has also dismissed reports that the NFP has no seat in the KZN legislature.

uMkhonto weSizwe Party is trying to block the National Assembly's first sitting.

The Party has filed an application to that effect at the Constitutional Court.

South Africa's newly elected National Assembly is due to convene on Friday for the swearing-in of lawmakers, and elect its speaker, deputy speaker as well as the country's President.

GOOD party leader Patricia De Lille, has confirmed that she received an invite from the ANC's Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula to partake in the government of national unity negotiations.
