Bollywood stars attended the ‘Haldi’ (turmeric) ceremony of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of India’s biggest business tycoon, Mukesh Ambani, on Monday in the entertainment capital of Mumbai.
‘Haldi’ ceremony is a South Asian tradition in which guests smear a turmeric paste on the face and body of the bride and groom-to-be to ward off any evil spirits and omens.
Indian actor Salman Khan, billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s brother Anil with wife Tina Ambani, social media influencer Orry, and other celebrities were seen posing for the media persons at the event.
Anant, one of the three heirs of the billionaire family is a director at Reliance’s new energy business and is set to marry his long-time girlfriend Radhika Merchant who is a director at India’s Encore Healthcare.
Earlier in March, a variety of high-profile guests including Bollywood A-listers, cricketers and business tycoons attended a three-day long pre-wedding bash in western Jamnagar city.
The festivities were attended by Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, and fellow Indian billionaires Gautam Adani and Kumar Mangalam Birla as well. Pop superstar Rihanna was also invited to perform at the bash.
The highly anticipated Ambani-Merchant wedding is set to take place on July 12 in Mumbai.
