Montjane, Kamiji win Wimbledon wheelchair doubles title

South Africa’s Kgothatso Montjane and her doubles partner Yui Kamiji of Japan have won the wheelchair doubles title at Wimbledon in London.

The top seeded pair beat second seeds Jiske Griffioen and Diede de Groot of the Netherlands 6-4, 6-4 in the final.

It is their third grand slam title together.

Minister in the Presidency responsible for Women, Youth and People with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga congratulates  Montjane and Kamiji.

Minister Chikunga says Montjane’s victory brings hope to women, youth and people with disabilities in South Africa.
